An ordinance to develop a jointly owned and operated industrial/business park (Project Paint) in conjunction with Anderson County, such industrial/business park to be geographically located in Anderson County and established pursuant to South Carolina Code of Laws of 1976 §4-1-170, et sequitur, as amended; to provide for a written agreement with Anderson County providing for the expenses of the park, the percentage of revenue application, and the distribution of fees in lieu of Ad Valorem taxes to the counties and relevant taxing entities; to provide that job tax credits allowed by law be provided for businesses located in said park; and to permit a user fee in lieu of Ad Valorem Taxation within said park.

16.    ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

17.    REQUESTS AND MOTIONS BY COUNCIL MEMBERS

 

  • Councilor Gibson stated she would be holding a press conference on Wednesday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m.

 

  • Councilor Seman stated the SC Army National Guard project at SCTAC was featured in GSA Business. She stated the project was more than halfway complete and would provide 75 full-time jobs and a $26 million capital investment. The scheduled completion date was September 2013.

 

  • Councilor Norris thanked everyone for their prayers and tokens during her family’s time of bereavement.

 

  • Councilor Dill asked the Administration to resurrect the NACo Drug Prescription Card. He then introduced a new Dental Card from NACo to be used for dental procedures. He stated he wanted them to be proactive in South Carolina and to be one of the first ones to really push the two cards that would help the citizens.

 

  • Councilor Cates wished Mr. Kirven and Happy Birthday.
